Painting the Big Boy Room

No, no purse to reveal yet. I tell ya, this week has been tough!!!!!! This has been my hardest week since I've been home; physically, emotionally, spiritually, nutritionally. Is there any other way I can get knocked down this week? Don't answer that...

On to the reason we are here....to see Landon's new room (a work in progress). This past weekend we decided to paint Landon's room so we can get ready to get his "Big Bed" and redecorate his bedroom. He still had his baby stuff in his room. We will be going with a pretty grown-up look, but with plenty of "Landon Touches" to help keep it real.
So here are a few pictures of the painting and the finished product. We are keeping the furniture, just converting his toddler bed into a full sized bed. We sold the big dresser that has been in that room since we moved in 6 years ago and it is amazing how much more room he seems to have. It will be taken up with bed here before too long.
These letters were the inspiration for the room - a woodlands theme (sort of, but not really).
Landon wanted to help paint. The novelty wore off pretty quick and he was happy to sit in his rocking chair that was now sitting in the living room.
Here it is after we put the furniture back. We have since organized the book shelf!! Landon is so proud!
This bed will convert to a full sized bed with a headboard and a foot board (which isn't in this picture because it is under our bed. The front part of what used to be the crib will be the foot board). The sides and toddler bar will go bye-bye (well to the attic until we need it for kiddo number 2....someday).

The room was supposed to be "Universal Khaki" but since we went to a different store and they tried to match it (which they didn't do successfully) the color is much more gray than I had envisioned. But, since the paint is already on the wall, I think I can live with the color! Maybe.

Hopefully we will get Landon's new bed this coming weekend and his bedspread a little bit after that. I have to order it, so it may take a while. We've got his curtains, but I need a rod, and I need to get them hemmed. I need some wall art. Thinking of doing this myself!? Not real sure yet. I know the letters will somehow make their way onto the walls, but not sure about that either. As you can tell, its just a roll with the punches kind of project.
