Keep Looking Ahead

Nearly half the country is going to end up in a disappointed funk in the morning, a loser in one of the most impassioned political battles in a very long time.

How to cope?

Most suggest avoiding the subject for a few days. That will be very difficult to do. If I'm one of those people who is dissapointed (and it is looking more and more like I will be - but I'm not ready to give up yet) when this is all over, I'm going to surround myself with like-minded people and be glad that for the first time in a long time people got passionate about a cause.

I don't want to be angry, I don't want others to be angry. But I want people to understand that anger is a sign that we care and that is a good thing. I'm glad that so many people were passionate about something and took the time and energy to give their opinion. I hope that people will be as passionate about politics in 6 months as they are today.

And to all my friends, who are part of the "other-half" of the country; congratulations. But let me also say, don't be someone's Lucy to their Charlie Brown and find the joy in snatching up the football.

Until then, I'll hold out hope....
