Here is a run down on our trip:
Sunday -
- Travel day (first flight began at 5:50 AM)
- Arrived at Paradisus Playa Conchal Resort at 2:00 PM.
- Had lunch at the resort
- Checked into the room and relaxed
- Had a nice dinner at the Italian Restaurant on property
- Went to bed early (8:30 PM)
Monday -
- Room service for breakfast
- Fishing with Captain Warren Sellers!! - we caught 5 tuna, 2 Mahi (Dorado), 2 Sailfish (at the same time!! - had three on at the same time but "one got away!")
- Dinner on property
Tuesday -
- RELAXED!!
- Slept in
- Breakfast buffet
- Sat by the pool all day - under a grass hut, sipping cold drinks, and catching up on my reading!
- Had a chef on property cook up some tuna and mahi we caught the day before - WONDERFUL!! Yum.
- Went to a show on property
Wednesday -
- Breakfast buffet
- Packed bags and checked out
- Took private transportation to Arenal Lake area (4 hour drive)
- Checked into The Lost Iguana Resort
- Early dinner on property
- Took pictures of the volcano (Arenal Volcano) that we could see from our wall of windows out to our private balcony.
Thursday -
- Breakfast Buffet
- Walking tour of Hanging Bridges - saw howler monkeys, white faced monkeys, pit viper snakes, poisonous frogs, pretty plants, including my mom's favorite "bird of paradise" flower
- Relaxed around the room/balcony and watched the rain - lots of rain
- Went into "town" - La Fortuna to shop and eat dinner
- Ate an authentic Costa Rican meal at La Choza de Laurel
- Sipped coffee/lattes and ate chocolate cake at another spot in town
Friday -
- Breakfast Buffet
- Sky Trek Adventure - Sky Tram and Zip Lines (in the pouring down rain - I mean we were in the middle of the rain forest!)
- Sat around the room and dried out
- Awesome couples massage, foot scrubs, and lava mud facials in the Golden Gecko Spa at the resort
Saturday -
- Breakfast Buffet
- Checked out of hotel at 7 AM
- Took a 3 1/2 hour ride to the airport (a tiny, open air, airport)
- Spent the day on planes and in airports
- Arrived at DFW at 11:45 PM
- Spent the night at GaGa and Grandaddy's house (where Landon stayed all week)
Sunday -
- Saw Landon wake up, spent the day with family and then went home!!

What a nice place . . . we so should have gone with you guys! Hope you are doing o.k. easing back in to the real world - yuck!
The videos are wonderful. I've been checking often, knowing there would be lots of pictures. Looks like a fantasy world. You are so brave!!! Traveling to another country is one thing, but soaring through the treetops? Did Shannon really do that?? The boys and I had gone to read up on the types of fish and the rainforest. They'll be thrilled to see the actual pictures!
