Buenas Dias de Costa Rica!!
We made it safely to our hotel in Conchal, Costa Rica. Our first evening here was nice and relaxing. After we checked in, we had to wait about an hour for our room to be ready, so Shannon and I went to lunch at one of the buffets here on the property. We finally made it to our room, showered and had a nice romantic dinner at an Italian Resturaunt. Since we were both so tired from our travels, and the fact that we had been awake since 3:00 AM to catch our early flight, we turned in early (8:30 CR time, 9:30 Texas time).
Monday morning we had room service breakfast at 6:00 AM. We met our taxi for a short ride to Flamingo where we me up with our Captain for the day. We spent the day on the Pacific Ocean with Captain Warren Sellers and his first mate Mario. The trip started with a quick (1 hour) ride to the best fishing spot on the sea. On the way there we saw fish fly - I mean really - a fish was flying!! While staring out into the ocean I saw a fish jump out of the water and "beat his fins" and fly for about 100 or more yards. He was in the air for about 10 seconds. It was such an amazing sight. We saw two more of these fish during the day. We also saw some sea turtles. After about an hour we made it to a spot where HUNDREDS of dolphins were surfacing the water. They would jump completely out of the water, flip, flop, and spin. It was here that the fish started hitting.
We had a great catch today - 5 yellow fin tuna, 1 Dorado, 1 Mahi, and a pair of Sail Fish (which we hit at the same time). Shannon and I got to real them in together!!
We came back to the resort and had a great dinner at one of the resturants here. Then we stumbled upon an internet cafe and here we are. I can't get the wireless in my suite to work, but if I do I will post some pictures and video.
Well, since I'm paying for this internet connection by the minute, I had better go. I'm exhausted and ready for bed!!
See you soon!
