Friday evening when they arrived we headed to an old stand-by, Manny's, for dinner.
On Saturday I had an early morning photoshoot, so I left out a bit early for the rest of the folks in my house!! After I got back home the crew (most of them) were up and about and we got cleaned up and headed to Landon's "Monkey Gym" class. After class we headed to Tin Star for lunch and then I had to split again to go shoot part of a wedding reception. Karen went with me, because who doesn't love to see a fancy country club all decorated for a nice reception!!?? It was beautiful by the way! After we finished up at the Country Club we headed back home to meet up with the boys. We all went to church together and then headed to dinner. Since we had about an hour to waste before our reservations at Jinbeh we headed over to the mall. I had a few things to return and Shannon needed some new jeans. We split up so we could divide and conquer - mission accomplished. We had a really nice dinner and I think by the end of the evening Landon was somewhat ok with the huge flames that would shoot up when the guys cooked dinner in front of us.
Sunday was another full day. We started off the day at the Fort Worth Zoo. The FWZ is an amazing place. We had a great time and Little Man was a CHAMP!! This was his first trip to a zoo - I know, I know, I know - how sad. He wanted to go from one animal to the next. He didn't care to ponder at any one spot - he wanted to see the next one. Which for us, that day, was a good thing because we only had about 3 1/2 hours to spend. The zoo is a pretty big place, and we didn't get to see but about 1/3 of it. But we hit the spots Landon wanted to see. We started at the Primates, since they have a really large area and are usually pretty active.

After those we headed to the flamingo bay.

Then Landon wanted to see an elephant! So we did - 5 of them!!

Then he wanted to see a lion! So we did - 6 of them.

We saw lots of animals and at the end of the morning Landon said his favorite was the giraffe.

Here are a few pictures of our morning:

And then if you are interested in seeing some of the animals - go here: Flickr
After the zoo on Sunday we had tickets to the Rough Riders baseball game. This was our first game of the season. We enjoy our seats at the ballgame and always have a great time watching the game, eating the food, and just being together. The highlight of the game was when the hostess let Landon sing part of "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" on the microphone during the 7th inning stretch!! He loves this song and we sing it quite a bit. To be honest I was hoping that since we sit right behind the home team dugout that at some point during the season they would notice that Landon knew all the words and would let him sing. Unfortunately no one got a picture because we were all just watching him sing! Proud mama!!

Just like his mama!!

You MUST have cotton candy while at the game - thanks Uncle Aaron!!

Great view!
We were sad to see Karen and Aaron leave on Monday morning - we really wished we all lived closer together. But until we move back to Little Rock or we convince them that Texas really is the best place to live we will have to survive on several visits a year and family vacations together. Where to next guys!??!?

We did have a great time! I'm glad Landon is doing better. I thought the same thing about his fever a few weeks ago . . . how they might be related.
OK - Try to get some sleep! You are one crazy busy lady!
