Tuesday

So, now it is Tuesday, I haven’t had a good nights sleep in a few nights – I’m beat. I get Landon and myself in Dad’s car (which I HATE driving) and hit the garage door opener. I put the car in reverse and look out my rear-view mirror, and hit the brakes. The garage door is still down. What? I just opened it. I try it again, nothing! The garage door is half-way up, crooked, and stuck. Great!!! I try the button one more time ad this time I get the garage door in a catch. It is going up and down (only about a foot or two at a time) and I can’t get it to stop. Every time it changed directions it got more and more crooked. I finally managed to get it to stop. But I can’t get it to budge. I get Landon out of the car and in the house, because I don’t want the garage door to fall on the car with him inside. I get a ladder so that I can pull the release chord (which has been cut to about two inches long because it kept getting caught in the luggage rack of my truck). I pull it not knowing what is going to happen to the garage door when I do. Nothing happens. The garage door is really stuck. So, here I go trying to manually open the garage door enough to get Shannon’s car out of the garage. I get it up far enough (I think) to get the car out. I very slowly back the car out of the garage, and I make it out! I go back inside to get Landon and put him in the car. Now, I have to get the garage door down. That was a sight – I wish I could have seen that from across the alley. Which, by the way a neighbor did back out of his drive way as I was literally hanging on the garage door to get it down, and he/she didn’t even notice me! Well, I got the door down enough that I thought the things inside were safe. Landon and I head to school. I now have to spend the first hour and a half contacting someone to come fix my garage door. More work not getting done!! Plano Overhead says they can be there between 10:30 and 11:00. I head home around 10:30 to wait in someone. They fix the door. Another expense this week we were not expecting!! I had back to work to try and get some amount of work done. I’m supposed to go to an educator’s conference in Fort Worth on Wednesday and a I need to tie up some loose ends before I leave. I get some things accomplished that afternoon and head home. I get a call this afternoon that my car is ready.
