Friday

Friday morning Landon woke up crying - not like him at all. When I went into his room to check on him he was holding his mouth. I asked him if his mouth hurt and he said, his “big cough was coming hard.” I guessed that his throat probably hurt and his cough was irritating it. He has pretty bad allergies and this time of year is a doozie on him. We got up and at ‘em and headed to school. The rest of the day was pretty uneventful.

While Landon and I were playing at home that afternoon I realized he was hot. He was running a low-grade fever. He was acting fine, but warm to the touch. By later that evening he was really hot, and running a fever of over 100. We gave him some Motrin before bed. I went in at about 11 o’clock to check on him and see if he was hot or not. When I walked into his room I noticed he wasn’t in his bed. He was a sleep on the floor. I went to go get Shannon so he could see him and help get him back in the bed. As soon as we had him in the bed, walked out of the room, and headed back to the living room, he started crying. “Great, we woke him up.” I thought. I went back in to calm him down, and realized he had just thrown-up all over his bed. He we go…Shannon and I tag team getting him cleaned up, and the bed sheets changed and bed disinfected, etc. After about 30 minutes we have everyone and everything cleaned up (or at least in the washing machine) and back to bed. Shannon and I head to bed for a good nights sleep. Which we get. Which we soon discovered was our last full night of sleep for some time….
