Relaxing, but not Restful

"Relaxing, but not Restful." Shannon said this as we were eating dinner this evening. It is true; we had a great weekend, but it was busy. Busy with fun stuff (most of the time). On Saturday I started my day off early with a photoshoot. Evan is a beautiful senior girl - waiting for graduation on Friday!! We spent over two hours in the park taking her pictures. After her shoot, I had a hair appointment. I don't usually get my hair done on the weekends, but Shelby was kind enough to get me in this weekend because my original appointment was for Tuesday (when I'm having my hysteroscopy and a D&C). I got my hair cut quite short (for me) and some more high-lites and low-lites. I came home from there and rested a bit while Landon finished up his nap - Dad went to the gym. Later that evening we got a babysitter and Shannon and I met up with our friends Deanna and Brad, and we all went to a Rough Riders baseball game. We had a great time with the newly engaged couple.

Shannon was up early to meet with his buddy Joe. (BTW - his wife has been quite ill and in the hospital for a few days - came home today - please pray for her speedy recovery.) The family started off today with church - where Shannon and I filled in in PTKids Jr. We had 15 - 2 1/2 to 3 year olds. We were in survival mode to say the least!! We made it, and it makes us VERY thankful for the awesome volunteers who give of their Sundays on a regular basis to make sure our kids are safe, and learning about how much GOD loves them. Although we didn't really get to the lesson today, we sort of watched the short video (sort of) and discussed the coloring page, but that was about it. After lunch at Chili's we headed home to let Landon get his nap (which he REALLY needed). While he slept I edited some of Evan's pictures from yesterday, and Shannon ran some errands. After Landon woke up we all went to Wal-Mart! We made it a family event. Took a while at the deli counter where Shannon and I had to use self-control not to physically hurt the man who cut in line. After more than an hour in a cram-packed store with a 2 year old - I was not showing much GRACE!! We got our lunch meat and stood in line at the checkout counter - where we saw my friend Margaret. She kept Landon happy by feeding him her grapes!! We came home, and I made a black bean salsa that I discovered the other day. Yes, I took a picture of it. Nothing quite as nice as Sandra's food photos; but I didn't have much time to get things set up, as Shannon was eating it as fast as I could make it. (I'll post the recepie tomorrow - it's late - I must go to bed!). Shannon grilled awesome burgers and we ate outside. It was a great ending to a Relaxing, but not Restful weekend.

Love your banner! You are so funny about food photography. The only thing I do different from you is put a piece of poster board behind it so it looks like I have a studio! Natural lighting is best. I also put my food by the window.
