I've been out of pocket for a few days keeping up with my friend Margaret's kids and their dog while her and Ed went to Cancun on vacation. Landon, Lucy and I stayed at their house so their over 75 pound, 8 month old, golden retriever (read: bull in china closet) didn't have to stay locked up all day long. Plus, they have a pool so that helped keep all the kids entertained (when it wasn't raining).
So, now I'm back home, sitting in my recliner, playing on my laptop. I'm downloading over 800 pictures I took at a wedding last weekend. I'm also working on editing some pictures I took of a sweet couple that same morning. I'll put a preview of that shoot on my photography blog when I get a few of them edited - haven't even started - (sorry Karen and Bruce - I'll get 'em done!)
Well, the reason for this post is to update!
Let's start with Landon. He is doing better. I think he just had a few really bad days. I think we narrowed it down to eating and sleeping schedules. We only had one meltdown while at Margaret's house - and it was kinda my fault anyways. While we were there Landon slept with me in Sarah's bed a few nights. He just really doesn't fit in his pack-n-play anymore - he has to lay at an angle to straighten out. He enjoyed sleeping with momma. We had to work on the staying in the bed part though. The first night he got up a handful of times. I would hear his feet pattering from downstairs, then he would slam the bedroom door. The next night he did much better - only got out of bed once (he said to let Lucy in the room!). So today when we got home and he was going to sleep in his own bed this evening I figured it was as good a time as any to convert his crib to a "big-boy bed!" Take a look:

He said he wanted to pretend he was sleeping! I love how he squeezes his eyes shut with a cute grin on his face!

He said he wanted to pretend he was sleeping! I love how he squeezes his eyes shut with a cute grin on his face! And here he is sleeping in his bed. He didn't get out once tonight. You can see all the "toys" in his bed. I told him he could choose two small toys to take to bed with him. He chose his Brainy Baby Flash Cards and his Mini Doodle Pro. It looks as if he fell asleep while drawing a picture on his Doodle Pro.
Bath time was a success tonight as well. My friend Julie suggested some home-made finger paints with shaving cream and food coloring to help entertain him in the tub. While we were at Target this afternoon he spotted some finger paints for the tub. He got so excited about them, we talked about them all afternoon. When bath time came and he got in the tub, he didn't want to sit (as usual) so I enticed him with his new finger paints. At first I told him he had to sit on his bottom to play with the paints. He didn't want to, so I put them up in the closet. Expecting a meltdown, I went back to the bath and asked him again if he wanted his paints. He said, "Yes" and then just sat down. That was that! He sat in the tub for about 20 minutes and played.

Here is is pouring water on his chest...
On his neck...
OOPS! Missed!

Another new addition to our house is Diego! This was the original reason we headed to Target this afternoon.

I love watching Landon's personality on camera. He's such a ham! Love your new bed arrangement. Glad things are better. Landon is such a big boy and so darn cute!
