So I opened the package today on the way home, in the car, and started recording - by pushing one button. (the batteries were already installed!) Of course since I was in the car the most logical thing for me to record was the other person in the car, Landon. He was doing his normal routine of singing on the way home. Of course he got a little camera shy when I started recording him.
Let me tell you how easy this thing is. I pushed record, held the camera up behind me while I was creeping along the road on the way home. I was going no more than 5 miles an hour the entire time (and stopped for most of it). I couldn't see what I was recording (because the camera was facing behind me), but it didn't matter. After I got home, and Landon went down to bed, I plugged the camera into the computer. No wires, no chords, no adapters, the thing has a USB plug that pops out of the camera and it plugs right in. I opened the drive folder and dragged the files to my desktop (I had made 4 video clips by then) and just clicked on them to play them. They are .avi files, and they just played right away. That easy! Now I'm going to upload them here to blogger (I converted it to an MPG4 for size reasons only - blogger accepts AVI files which is what the original one was). You can load them to something like OneTrue media, YouTube, or what have you and link them to here. SIMPLE!! I think our kids at school can handle this. They will actually get into more difficult things like importing into Movie Maker or something and editing their videos. I'm so excited about this!! I love my job!

You were a woman on a mission! I am so excited about this camera. This will be great for us videopodcasting in the classroom.

That is great, Shelley! What a great little singer you have! I'm glad you like the camera--we have had a great time using them in our classrooms. It was a pleasure working with all of you today--you all are a fun, excited group. I can't wait to hear about the amazing things you accomplish with your students!
Yes, I was on a mission! This will help get the podcasting off the ground in this classroom. The teacher is ready, the kids are ready, the equipment was putting up roadblocks. This knocked them down!!
That is so cool! I have all kinds of ideas in my head and now that I will have a specialist, maybe I will have time to do some of it. I may go get me one today! Yes, I am up at 2:15am....I am having a sneezing fit like I did in the training (except 100 times worse) I can't stop! I love the video, Shelley. He is such a doll!
Shelley, I love it! I look at Walmart tonight to see if they had one, but I did not find one. So, now that I saw Lilly's note, I will have to visit Walgreens. I may also look at the Flip - I heard that they have them at Sam's for pretty cheap. It has a flip out USB, too.
Great job!
:) Sherri
