Visitors

My boys came to visit me this weekend. We've had a great time together. I can't hug Landon enough, or Shannon too for that matter! Here are lots of pictures from our weekend. Actually these are all from today.

I'm just glad to have him near me. I swear he's grown in two weeks.

Structure House isn't a playground for little ones. Two cups from the kitchen and a bag full of plastic animals become great toys!

We took Landon to a children's museum in Chapel Hill, Kidzu. We discovered it's free on Sunday, and so is parking in all of Chapel Hill. He had a blast for about two hours.

He enjoyed lining up all the cars on this road display. A few kids came over and began to crash all the cars, and he soon lost interest.

Played with this older boy for a while at the lighted table.

This wall was COOL!! I so would have spent my time here as a kid. I so bad wanted to go up there and rearrange all the pipes and pieces to make it "SOOOO COOOOL" - but I refrained - its a CHILDREN'S museum!! Landon had a such an amazing time watching the balls come through the tube at the top. He said he loved it when they would miss and hit him on the face!

Dad helped spin the wheel that made the balls rise to the top of the tube maze.

Look at that intensity!!

There was this gardening area where you could "plant" veggies, water them, then pull them and take them to the market. There is a compost bin that you can add stuff too as well.

They had this structure that you could loop all these fun noodles in and create designs.

Lost of different building blocks.

The tool bench. Landon liked the screwdriver - and later the hammer!!

After the museum we drove back to Durham and drove through the Duke University campus as Landon had fallen asleep in the backseat. The campus is HUGE and hard to drive through. All the parking lots and several of the streets are permit only with gates, so you can't get to too many places. We did see Duke Chapel. We couldn't get any closer than this on the front side in the car as they were having a wedding and the roads were blocked. We did get around to the back of the chapel and Shannon let me out of the car for a few minutes so I could take some shots.

After we got back to my apartment we all went swimming for a little bit. We had the pool to ourselves after a few minutes! I didn't take it personally that everyone left shortly after we got there!!

Then the "BIG" event - we had dinner OUT!! We went to McAllister's Deli. I looked up all the nutritional information before we left so I would know what I could eat before I got there. I had to order my sandwich like Meg Ryan's character in When Harry Met Sally. I was really pleased with myself for taking the effort to stay structured. I didn't even eat the Doritos that Landon insisted on feeding me. I felt so good when I left, proud that I faced the challenge and was successful.

The boys leave early tomorrow (Monday) morning. The last two weeks will be a challenge.

My friend Lauri left yesterday. I'm really going to miss her.
