WOW - What a weekend!!! We've been very busy.
This is a LONG post with LOTS of pictures! BEWARE!!
After work on Friday Landon and I enjoyed a quite evening at home. Daddy came home from his business trip only to find that his car, while parked in the parking garage at the airport, was blessed with a flat tire. So at about 1:00 AM poor Shannon is changing the tire on his car so he can get home.
We woke up Saturday morning and I made biscuits and gravy for breakfast while Shannon prepared to take his car to get the tire fixed. He went to do that, Landon and I ran to Target to get him some sandals that he needed. By the time we all got home it was about time for Shannon and Landon to hit the road for their first Boys Road Trip. They were headed to Oklahoma City to a wedding of one of Shannon's friends (story and pics below). I stayed behind because I had tickets to see Topol in his farewell tour of Fiddler on the Roof.
After an enjoyable afternoon of lunch at Pappadeaux and a wonderful show with a good friend, I had the early evening all to myself. It was a little too quiet around here so I texted my friend Laurie to see if she wanted to get a drink after she got her kiddos down for bed. She did, so we did. She swung by and picked me up and we headed down to our Starbucks (yes OUR Starbucks!) for drinks. We closed that place down! Then sat in front of my house for about another hour or so, just chatting. Always great conversations with that lady! I came in, tended my farm (a new facebook addiction), and then hit the bed. I had early plans the next day.
I woke up early and headed to Fort Worth to visit my mom's grave. I don't go there often, but I took the opportunity since I was flying solo this morning. I tried to get there before sunrise, but man, the sun comes up early. I didn't make it there before sunrise, but I was close! I will say there was hardly ANY traffic at that time of day on a Sunday! I stayed there for quite a while, and also walked around to the other family plots in the same section of the cemetery. Saturday was the 11th anniversary of her passing. With my upcoming "adventure" I've been thinking a lot about her as a mom. What a wonderful, strong, amazing mother she was.

I took this with my iPhone - pulling out all your gear in a cemetery is a little strange (for me anyways)
I stayed there for about two hours. Since it was only about 9:00 I thought on my way home I would try out the IKEA in town. It's been here for about 2 years and I've never been. Again, since I was flying solo I though I would check it out. Unfortunately it didn't open until 10:00; but the restaurant opened at 9:30. So I waited a few minutes for the cafe to open and went inside. Apparently the were offering free breakfast that morning! There was hundreds of people flocking to an early bird special they were having on curtains. I couldn't resist and picked up my limit of 2. I'll use them in Landon's room when we get it fixed up soon. I went and waited in a long line at the Swedish Restaurant. While in line I ran into an old college friend, Patti. We've lived about 30 minutes from each other for about 6 years now and we run into each other at IKEA! Go figure! I wandered through the store for a bit mainly looking for some photography props for a few upcoming newborn shoots. I'm really looking for some bowls and/or baskets made from twigs. Can't put my finger on them. I did find two blankets with great patterns and colors, one "basket" of sorts, and of course the two sets of curtains.
I headed home and my boys arrived home from their road trip. We had tickets to the afternoon game at the Rough Riders. We love going to these games. They are very family friendly, plus, we have great seats.

Next year I am going to try hard to advocate for the seats in front of us. Without fail every time someone real tall sits in front of us.

But I could see between their heads.
After the game we headed home to unwind. Landon was telling me all about his trip with daddy. He was very excited that "Percy" was across the street from their hotel! I sent Shannon with a camera with strict orders to take lots of pictures! He did!!
Looks like the guys got an upgraded room! Someone must of thought they were cute boys!!
It sounds like Little Man loved the reception and didn't want to leave. He's a party animal I tell ya!! Again before they left on Sunday, Little Man played on Percy one last time!
Here they are checking out the fish in the pond. The pond is stocked with Bass. Most of them are tiny (well the ones we saw anyways). There are a few bigger gals in there as well. We've decided to get Little Man a fishing pole and go back one weekend.
Doesn't this duck look like it's skiing!?
I will have to say, one thing Frisco does real well (along with LOTS of other things) is parks. The city boasts over 40 parks covering more than 1350 acres. This one, Frisco Commons is 63 acres. It has lots of open spaces. Even if there are lots of people there (which there hardly ever is) there is plenty of room for everyone. Check it out!
there is even a "back section" that isn't complete yet that will add about 25% more space.
They have this signs throughout the walking trail that share part of Frisco's rich history.
Now, it's getting close to dinner time and we've all decided that tonight is a great night to eat out!! WHOO HOO!!
I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend.

I love your posts and your pics!
Is the water at the Frisco Commons really that clear? That is great. The last time we were there it was very merkie (not sure how to spell that).
