This weekend was the Plano Balloon Festival. I think this has become a tradition! Does two years in a row make it a tradition? We all enjoy this event so much. I think just being together as a family enjoying being with each other is part of what we love about it. Landon is so intrigued by the HUGE balloons. This year, I had a media pass so I got to go right onto the launch field. I went down and took pictures of the balloons being inflated for the night glow event. I even had the change to get INTO a balloon while it was being inflated - that was a first for me. After I had been down there a while and taken the pictures I needed to I called Shannon on his phone and asked if he and Landon wanted to come to the field for the night glow. I wasn't sure if they would let them down or not - turns out they could come down. It was awesome. We were not crowded, not having to look over someone to see, we were within feet of several balloons. We also enjoyed the huge fireworks show afterwards. Since we had a VIP parking pass, getting to the car and out of the lot was no trouble. I will have to make sure I get a media pass every year!!
Here are some of my favorite pictures:
This is what it is all about - a young boy sitting on his daddy's shoulders watching the balloons launch!
I was shooting some pictures of this huge daisy balloon, when the owner came over and asked me if I wanted to go inside and get a different perspective. It took me all of two seconds to say, "YES!"
This is the view inside the balloon.
