The Herb Garden

Along with a "real" garden in our backyard, I wanted to set up a little herb garden.  I found this great "antique" double wash tub at a local garden shop. I fell in love and knew it would be a great place to plant my herbs.  So, while waiting on the dirt to arrive for the real garden and other yard work we had planned for the weekend, I decided to go ahead and put my herb garden together since I already had my planting dirt.  I was too scared (or let's be honest, to impatient) to start from seed so I bought seedlings (really, actually small plants, these are much larger than seedlings) from my favorite local garden supply store.

My favorite part about creating the vegetable garden and this herb garden is the fact that this one LOVES to be outdoors and she is very willing to help me.  It will give us something productive to do outside between swinging on the swing, sliding down the slide, kicking the ball, sidewalk-chalking, blowing bubbles, and playing in the dirt (although now we have lots more dirt!!)

About 30 seconds after I took this picture Reagan watered herself!  As I was bringing in her wet clothes to clean off and put in the dryer, she took her little pink Minnie Mouse spade and "dug up all the dirties" and brought me "all the pretty sticks" from the planters!!  Maybe this will also give us a chance to learn about the proper way to garden!!!
