Kindergarten Round-Up

Well, I did it.  I pre-registered Landon for Kindergarten.  I took the folder home last week, gathered all the essential documents, a few pints of blood, the rights to our 2nd child, and it's a done deal!  Well, it felt that way.  Man the documentation you need to prove your kid is who he is, lives where he lives, and is actually YOURS is crazy.  I totally understand why, but still, it took at least one trip to the safe deposit box, several calls to the pediatrician's office, and an all out scavenger-hunt for some paperwork, but I got it.

As I walked into school on Monday morning I handed all the paperwork, neatly organized in the green file folder, over to our fearless Data Clerk.  She took the folder, looked through it, handed the nurse the files she needed, and then..... that was it.   Done.  I just stood there for a moment.  That's it.... That's all..... after all the anticipation it was actually really ... anti-climatic.  I quietly turned around and walked down the hall to my desk.  Not sure what I expected, balloons, noise makers, cheers of joy, no, but, wow.... it's done.  Little Man will be in Kindergarten next year.

Reminds me of this song....
[If the YouTube video isn't working watch it on CMT - http://www.cmt.com/videos/trace-adkins/217378/youre-gonna-miss-this.jhtml]

I am really looking forward to having Landon "go to school with me" next year.  I'll get an opportunity not many parents get; I'll get to experience his Kindergarten year from about 15 feet away!!  I don't want to miss this.

A friend posted to facebook today and it is another reminder of how fast life flies by!

And that is ENOUGH country music for one night!!
