Summer Fun

Today was my first official day of summer vacation. I don't have to report back to work for any workshops, staff developments, or meetings until the very end of July. I've had a few days off before now, but I'd always had prep-work or something looming over me to work on. Not now -I'm officially done. So, of course I had a few appointments to attend to this morning. The car dealership and the "girly doctor" - both of those went well. After I got home from the OB/GYN Landon and I headed to lunch and then on to Target. We had a VERY random list of things we needed to pick up - everything from bread, to string, to a T-Ball bat! Landon had earned a new Leapster game and was anxious to go pick it out. One of the other main reasons we were heading to Target (besides bread) was to get Landon a T-Ball stand and bat. He started T-Ball workshop at the YMCA last weekend and Shannon said he did pretty good. He hit the ball off the tee on the very first swing.

When we got home we played in the playroom for a little bit until it cooled off a little bit outside. Once it got down to about 98 degrees ( ;0) we went outside to hit the ball. I do have to say that Little Man has a knack for hitting those balls. He hit several of them about 10 - 20 feet. That's pretty good for his second time in front of a tee. I didn't take any pictures of his batting practice, but I promised Shannon I would take some tomorrow. I might even pull out the "good camer" for those!

A few pictures I did take this evening will help describe what the rest of the day consisted of.
Here is Landon's "contraption" as he called it. It is apparently a tool that will help you open the drawer on the table. Landon loves string. He can get so inventive with a spool of string.
See, the drawer is closed:

Pull on the microphone stand really hard...

Now the drawer is open!
See the open drawer?
And now on to something new... These last pictures are what I call, Sofa Surfing. Although there really isn't any surfing, it's more like leaping, and it also involves the ottoman, but it sounded catchy! When I put these on facebook I made a comment that I didn't think Daddy would approve. He commented that, I was correct, he didn't approve! Oh well, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to survive the moment!
