Landon has been studying piano this year. He began his class at The Music Institute of North Texas in mid-September. He really enjoyed his class and liked his teacher, Ms. Melody. (Perfect name!) His teacher has been very complementary of Landon this year. She says he really does have an ear for music and is a quick learner. She strongly encouraged us to attend another school similar to MINT in Fort Worth once we move. And she suggested that Landon take private lessons instead of a class because he can move along much quicker than the other students. I'm so glad that Landon loves music and is interested in continuing his musical education. And when he's 12 and wants to quit (like his mom)....I'll strongly encourage him to keep at it. I don't know one single adult who ever said, "Man, I'm so glad I quit playing the piano when I was a kid!!"
Here he is all dressed in his bow tie!!
Preparing to play. (We actually got there early so I could stage some pictures!) I knew there wouldn't be time to get any afterwards because another group of 30 kids was coming in 15 minutes after our recital to have their own recital. And I knew that I wouldn't get nearly this great of a shot when trying to shoot over the heads of 60+ parents, grandparents, etc.
After all of the students had performed the students received their ribbons. The MINT has a very neat program for accruing points throughout the year for performances and competitions. Once you have accrued enough points you receive a trophy. Landon participated in a solo competition earlier this year to get points, and then points for today's performance. Unfortunately, he will move before he has the chance to get his last set of points for a trophy. But he is very proud of his ribbons!! And so am I.
Congratulations, Landon on a job well done. BRAVO!!
