Anyways. I wanted to upload a few baseball picture to keep "on record". This is the closest I get to "scrap-booking" our lives.
Landon is playing in a Modified Coach Pitch league this year. That means they get three pitches (no matter if they are strikes or balls) to attempt to hit, then they get three attempts to hit from the tee. In practice, Landon can consistently hit pitched balls. Actually, this week during practice he hit a huge fly ball to 2nd base on his first pitch. But when it comes game time, he just doesn't make contact. I think (but I'm sure I'm a bit biased) that the coach gets a little "camera shy" on game day and his pitching isn't as consistent. The pitches usually fall short of the plate. But today Landon had a great hit off his 3rd pitch. He ran hard all the way through first base and was safe. He's had one other really good hit this season, but was thrown out at first.
I have been really amazed at how much he has grown this season. Last season he was timid and just didn't have the strength. But this season he has worked really hard throughout the week, working with Daddy when he can, and working hard at practice. He has improved in every aspect of the game, from hitting, to throwing, to catching, and running. He's really enjoying playing baseball this season!
(Please ignore the yelling mommy and the errant camera work after the hit!! - I get a little excited!!!)
At his second at bat he had three really nice swings, but didn't make contact. So he hit from the tee. He had a really good solid hit from the tee and was again safe at first. Both times he made it around to score.
Here are some pictures from his first game of the season. I love the all-white uniforms (well, until it comes to cleaning it each week).
Coach Dan is big on "being a team" and the boys will usually stretch together before the game. Coach Dan used to coach in the majors and his nephew plays on our team. He's been really sick for the last two seasons but we were fortunate enough to have his around for our pre-season practices and our first few games. He's down and out for now; just had some more surgeries. We hope to get him back in the dugout again soon.
Don't these boys look sharp!!! Glad we had team pictures before the first game....those uniforms have never been white again!!!
