Banana Bread

Banana Bread

(Myrtle Moore Berryman - AKA Judy's Nana)

Banana Nut Bread from Judy McCombs' From The Hill Family Cookbook.

Judy is my Aunt Jerry's lifelong friend.  I am so excited I was one of the chosen to receive a copy of Judy's labor of love...her cookbook.  A compilation of all her favorites.

Note from the book:
This is the nut bread Nana made for all her neighbors, her friends, and for the holiday feasts.  My kids think it is the ultimate nut bread do this day... I like it toasted with jelly and cream cheese-yummy!

1 1/2 Cups sugar
1 stick of butter
2 unbeaten eggs
1 Cup very ripe bananas - 2-3 depending on the size - mashed
1 tsp vanilla
1 Cup chopped peacans
1 1/2 Cups flour
1/4 cup buttermilk
1 tsp soda

Mix it all together, put it in a greased and floured loaf pan.

Bake 350* for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

ENJOY!!!
