The water line into our ice maker spung a leak the other day. Every time the ice maker tried to make ice (about every 10 minutes) the water would flow out into the freezer instead of the ice tray in the ice machine. So after a day's worth of "ice making" the freezer, and everything in it, is covered in ice. I wish these pictures did this justice. For example, I pulled out the chicken strips from the top shelf last night and behind the bag of chicken is a block of ice about the size of a box of crackers. There are some items I cant even get to until we ice pick everything out (which we had planned to do today - but that's another story). At the very bottom of the freezer is a layer of ice about 1 1/2 inches thick.
We had planned on getting an old fridge and putting it in the garage for drink storage, extra freezer storage for those items I buy in bulk, so the broken water line helped move that item up on the to-do list. Instead of purchasing an old fridge, we are just going to get a new one and put this one in the garage - where we won't use the ice maker anyways. Plus, I really have disliked this fridge from day 1 - it makes some of the strangest noises I've ever heard; and it's loud too! We had planned on doing that today, except that we were up all night with Landon who was pretty sick. Shannon took him to the doctor this morning to make sure he didn't have the flu (which is crazy out of control around here - over 40 kids out at one of my schools this past week). No flu!! The doctor said he had an upper respitory infection and to continue with the breathing treatments (we've been doing them again for about a week now), and he thought the throwing up part was possibly a reaction to something he ate. And the fever was probably because of the chest congestion. (we'll see......)
Back to the fridge...
Here are the pictures I took of the fridge the other night when I discovered the arctic tundra in our kitchen. The thing is, the ice is not just on the parts you can see. All the way through to the back in every nook and cranie (any place water can get) there is a chunk of ice. I will be curious to see how much ice we get out of this thing tomorrow.
P.S. I know I have WAY TO MUCH stuff in my freezer.

Holy ICE! I had to laugh at this Shelley. Totally cracked me up!
I hate our fridge too. I'll pray that happens to us to bump up our priority list! LOL!
Sorry about Landen. Luke got the flu and we know how it happened. It's rampant. I got that upper R. infection and I feel so bad for Landen. Praying he feels better.
Hugs honey..
P.S. When is our next meeting??!!
